Shared governance for environmental IoT data
ChainIO gives city operators, pollution boards, and platform operators one permissioned ledger — not three siloed databases. Signed telemetry is anchored with 2-of-3 endorsement; compliance rules run automatically; anyone can verify outcomes independently.
1. Register and sign
Only registered devices submit events. Gateways verify signatures before anything reaches the ledger.
2. Endorse and enforce
Peers from independent organisations endorse each anchor. Chaincode records threshold breaches without manual sign-off.
3. Verify independently
Citizens and regulators confirm that a displayed reading matches the anchored record — even if one department's database is altered.
Why a shared ledger?
Environmental IoT often spans agencies that maintain separate systems. A signed database audit trail helps, but a single operator can still rewrite local records. ChainIO distributes endorsement across three Fabric organisations — no one party can silently approve a write alone.
